Chocolate Tiffin

Ingredients
  • 300g / 10oz crushed rich tea biscuits
  • 225g / 8oz margarine
  • 4tbls Golden Syrup
  • 4tbls cocoa powder
  • 2tbls sugar
  • 400g / 14oz chocolate (300g / 10oz for a thin layer)
Method
  1. Grease tins.
  2. Crush the rich tea biscuits.
  3. Melt the margarine, golden syrup, cocoa powder and sugar together in a large bowl.
  4. Add the rich tea biscuits to the mixture and turn into the tin. Press down firmly.
  5. Melt the chocolate and pour over biscuit mixture.

  • With 400g of chocolate topping: 274
  • With 300g of chocolate topping: 238
  • For comparison, a standard 54g Mars bar: 242
  • A standard 54g Snickers bar: 271
